Mr. Sanchez

Aaron Sanchez, 38, of Beaumont and formerly of Lampasas, died on Jan. 11, 2024. Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Jan. 27 at 1 p.m., with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents.

Ms. Menendez

Corina K. Menendez, 67, died on Jan. 19, 2024, at her home in Lampasas. Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Jan. 25 at 3 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Corina was born Jan.

Mrs. Wittenburg

Ruth Ann “Ruthy” Gripon Wittenburg died on Jan. 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Ruthy was born April 5, 1932, in Houston to Lee and Ruth Gripon. She spent most of her young life in Houston attending camp every summer in Hunt at Camp Arrowhead.

Mr. Murphy

Virgil Owen Murphy died Dec. 31, 2023, in Kingsland. He was 92. Virgil or “V.O.” as many called him, was born Feb. 7, 1931 at his home in Kempner to W.E. and Eula Murphy. He was one of three siblings, including Doris and Colene.

Mrs. Feild

Mary Catherine Pickerill Feild, 79, of Kempner died on Jan. 7, 2024. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Jan. 18 from 5-7 p.m. Mary was born on Nov. 9, 1944, in Saratoga, Texas.

Mrs. Schaub

Linda Gail Schaub, 76, of Lampasas died on Jan. 6, 2024. Graveside services will be held at Naruna Cemetery on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. Linda Gail Schaub was born to Garrett Wolf Jr. and Johnnie Harrell Wolf on May 30, 1947. She grew up in Lampasas and attended the Presbyterian church with her mother.

Mr. Craig

David Allen Craig, 73, of San Saba died on Dec. 5, 2023 in Lampasas. A service will be held Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Hills in Lometa, with Jonathan Williams to officiate. Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hammett

James Virgil Hammett Jr. of Lampasas died on Dec. 31, 2023, at age 81. Born to Mary Frances Casbeer Hammett and James Virgil Hammett on Aug. 18, 1942, Jimmy grew up in Lampasas, spending time with his friends, siblings and cousins riding horses, hunting rattlesnakes and working on the ranch.

Billy Joe Withers

Billy Joe Withers, 66, died on Dec. 29, 2023, in Temple. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Jan. 4, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. Billy was born in Stinnett, Texas to Earl Dean Withers and Gladys (Rochelle) Withers. He loved to play his guitar, sing and enjoyed fishing.
