Mr. Herring

Larry Neal Herring, 78, of Kempner died on June 2, 2021 at St. David’s North Medical Center in Austin. He was born in Lampasas on March 17, 1943 to D.C. and Thelma (Hayter) Herring. Larry and Jorja Pickett married on June 5, 1964 in Kempner. He lived his entire life in the Lampasas area.

Mrs. Hudson

Bobbie Jo Hudson, 89, died Feb. 7, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. June 12 at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with visitation an hour prior.

Mr. Lindsey

Vernon Monroe Lindsey, 94, died on May 26, 2021 at his home in Lampasas. Visitation was held May 31 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were June 1, also at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with interment at Smith Cemetery in Kempner.

Mr. Palmer

Kenneth Wayne Palmer, 47, of Lometa died May 31, 2021 at his residence. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. June 12 at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa. Kenneth was born to Kenneth Ward Palmer and Sandra Kay Shumate on Oct. 1, 1973 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Mr. Boyd

James Darnell Boyd, 81, died June 4, 2021 at his home in Lampasas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. June 8 at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at San Saba City Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the services, from 10-11 a.m.

Mrs. Horton

Mary Ann Horton, 75, of Kempner died on May 24, 2021 in Red Rock, Texas. Mary Ann was born in Weimar, Texas to Vaclav A. and Mary Herzik on Sept. 2, 1945. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy Austin, Texas and attended a business school.

Mr. Lindsey

Lowell Preston Lindsey, 78, died on May 26, 2021, at his residence after a battle with cancer. Visitation will be June Visitation will be June 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held June 3 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Killeen, 13341 TX-195.

Juanita Welch Procter

Juanita Welch Procter died peacefully at home on May 28, 2021, at age 86. She was born in Kempner, TX to Rondie and Athalene Welch. Juanita’s life revolved around her faith and her family. She was the perfect daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend and real estate agent.

Mr. Thornton

Colton Wayne Thornton, 21, of Lampasas died at his residence on May 20, 2021. He had lived in Lampasas the past three years with Donnie Porter and Melloney Crouch Porter, and previously lived in Bell County. He was born in Taylor County on July 24, 1999. Colton graduated from Temple High School.

Mr. Burris

Lloyd M. Burris Sr., 85, died on May 4, 2021 at his residence in Lampasas. Services for Mr. Burris will be held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California on June 14. He is survived by a son, two daughters, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
