Mary Ann Horton, 75, of Kempner died on May 24, 2021 in Red Rock, Texas.
Mary Ann was born in Weimar, Texas to Vaclav A. and Mary Herzik on Sept. 2, 1945.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy Austin, Texas and attended a business school.
She married John Charles Horton on June 22, 1968 in Austin.
She worked as a housewife for 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, decorating and woodworking.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, John Douglas Horton; brother, Johnny Herzik; grandchildren Brandy Horton, Ashley and husband Ron Cruz, Megan and husband Jason Keel, Jacob Benjamin Horton, and Jayden Luke Horton; and great-grandchildren Nathaniel Keel, Lynnex Cruz, Zoë Keel and Vaughan Cruz.
Mary Ann was preceded by death by her husband, John Charles Horton; brother, James Herzik; and parents.
Visitation took place June 2 from 10-11 a.m. at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Funeral services were held immediately after on June 2 at 11 a.m. at Bastrop Providence.
Burial was the following day at 11 a.m. June 3 at the Kempner Cemetery, beside her husband.
