Kenneth Wayne Palmer, 47, of Lometa died May 31, 2021 at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. June 12 at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa.
Kenneth was born to Kenneth Ward Palmer and Sandra Kay Shumate on Oct. 1, 1973 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He grew up in Lometa and graduated from Lometa High School.
After high school, Kenneth joined the Army and served 13 years.
He was known for his kindness and helping those around him.
Kenneth had a love for fishing, Cowboys football and his children. He found a whole new love in 2019 when he became a Pop-Pop to his only granddaughter, Hazel.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Kay Shumate; grandparents Lola Mae and Roy Earl Shumate; aunt, Brenda Sue Mercier; and uncles David Lynn, Mike Springs and Randy Lee Shumate.
Survivors include his children, Nicholas “Torie” Wayne Palmer and Jaci Nicole Palmer; granddaughter, Hazel Kate Palmer; father, Kenneth Ward Palmer; aunt and uncle Pam and Stanley Stone; aunts Lela Medrano, Glenda Springs and Debbie Shumate; uncles Dennis Shumate and Danny Shumate; and numerous cousins.
