Trent Michael Freeman was born Jan. 23, 1992. He is the son of Mindy and Jason Lofland of Hamilton, Texas; Michael Freeman of Vidalia, La.; and Steven Bertrand of Abilene, Texas. He died on Jan. 13, 2023. Trent loved spending time with family and his close friends.

Willis Albert Oakley, aka “WA5ET,” “Diddar” and “Bill”, was born in Burnet County, Texas to George Albert Oakley and Caroline Carrie Mallett on Oct. 16, 1929. His father died in 1936, and he was raised by his mother, living in Johnson City and Lampasas.

Erma Lee Griffin, 96, died on Jan. 14, 2023, at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lampasas. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. Funeral services will be at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Jan.

Wanda Fay Green, 85, of Lampasas died on Dec. 29, 2022 at home. She was born June 27, 1937, in Rochester, Texas to the late RD Belyeu and Eva Holly Belyeu. She had two brothers, Clevie and Randle, and a sister, Shirley. She met William Wayne Story, and they were married.

William “Bill” Culpepper, 83, of Lampasas died Jan. 2, 2023, at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center after a battle with cancer. Bill was the son of Xermo and Alice (Adcock) Culpepper.

Jimmie Eugene “Gene” Dunning, 88, of Lampasas died at his home on Jan. 7, 2023. He had lived in Lampasas since 1963. Gene was born on July 8, 1934, at the family home in Voca, Texas in McCulloch County to Ellis Russell and Norma (Weeks) Dunning. He graduated from Brady High School in 1952.

Wendell Ray Taylor, 61, of Lampasas died at his residence in Lampasas on Dec. 25, 2022. Services will be private. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements. Wendell grew up in Lampasas and was well known as an athlete in football, basketball and track.

Dorothy Lee Dawson, 97, of Lampasas died on Dec. 24, 2022. Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. Dorothy was born in Kempner to R.L. Patterson and Beatrice Wheeler Patterson. She enjoyed traveling and dancing across Texas, especially square dancing.

Ms. Dalia Guerra Smith, 76, died at home in Lampasas on Dec. 22, 2022. She was born on Dec. 16, 1946 in Lampasas to Mauro Guerra and Guadalupe Sapien. She had lived in Lampasas most of her life. She was member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lampasas.
