Wanda Faye Asbury, 75, died on April 2, 2023, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
A memorial service will be held at Lometa United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. on April 8, with a family visitation and luncheon after the service.
Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.
Wanda was born on Oct. 11, 1947, in Waxahachie to W.A. “Blue” Hyles and Maggie Lou Hyles of Italy, Texas.
She grew up in Italy and graduated from Italy High School in 1966.
Wanda married David Lee Bridges, with whom she had her first child, Lewis Gail Bridges, then they divorced shortly afterward.
She married Gordon Ray Asbury on March 2, 1971, in Waxahachie, and they were married for 52 years.
Wanda was a member of Lometa United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Judy Kay Turk.
Wanda is survived by her spouse, Gordon, of Beaumont; her son, Lewis Bridges and wife, Ronda, of Lometa; daughters Sherry Skidmore and husband Gene of Buda, and Deborah Asbury of Leander; her brother, Randy Hyles and wife Tammy of Waxahachie; grandchildren Jacob Skidmore, Monica Bridges, Morgan Hearne and husband Pierce, and Robert Skidmore; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lometa Garden Club, Lometa Senior Citizens Center or Lometa United Methodist Church.
