Charles Herbert Martin of Lampasas died at age 88 on June 11, 2023. He had been living at Lily Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the last seven years. Charles was born on Oct. 12, 1934, in Lubbock to James “Jim” W. Martin and Mary Hodges Martin, the second of their three sons.

Nancy Bradford, 81, died at Meadowood Assisted Living and Memory Care in Grapevine on June 12, 2023. Nancy had devoted her life to her two children, Randy (Francine) Bradford of Grapevine and daughter Carrie Bradford Ward of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Delia Jean Covington Mayes was born on May 8, 1928 in Floydada, Texas to Francis Milton Covington and Mattie Emma Hall-Covington. She was named for her paternal greatgrandmother, Martha Adelia Clark. When she was 1 year old, she, parents and older brother Bob moved to Dougherty, Texas.

Michael Chad January, 24, of Lampasas, died on June 7, 2023. Services were held June 10 at Adamsville Baptist Church. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements. Michael was born on May 4, 1999, in Round Rock to Amy Mahana and Chad January.

Barbara Ann Finnell Butler, 76, died on June 4, 2023, in Temple. Barbara was born on Sept. 11, 1946, in Lampasas to Edward Finnell Sr. and Susie Hamilton Finnell. She graduated from Lampasas High School and married Eddie Butler, and together they raised two sons.

Billy James Spivey, 90, of Honey Grove, Texas, was born Nov. 19, 1932, to William Govnor and Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Spivey, in Bruceville-Eddy. He died June 3, 2023, in Paris, Texas. Billy served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Mr.

Mark Mattingly died on May 20, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born on June 25, 1956 to Beverly Lewis “Bud” and Eva Jean Mattingly. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Bud Mattingly.

Arthur “Art” Woodrow Howe of Austin died on May 28, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born on May 30, 1938 in Galveston. Graduating from Lampasas High in 1957, Mr. Howe was married to Betty Jean Thomas in Corpus Christi Texas on Oct. 15, 1961.
