Susie Hanson, 70, died on Aug. 22, 2023, at her temporary home in Lampasas.

A service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas on Aug. 27 at 4 p.m., with a visitation an hour prior. The family invites friends to join them in celebration of memories of Susie “Nana” with a fellowship meal afterward.

Burial will be private. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Susie was born on July 27, 1953, in Odessa to James and Margaret (True) Pittinger.

She grew up in Odessa, and moved to Fort Worth in 1967. She attended Richland High School in Fort Worth.

She married her high school sweetheart, Steven Hanson, in 1970 in Fort Worth. They were married for 50-plus years.

Susie was a homemaker and enjoyed being involved in her local church and volunteering in the school system. Later in life, she attended Temple College and made a career in the golf industry as membership director. She enjoyed her grandchildren, singing, traveling, painting and playing golf.

Susie was preceded in death by her brothers James Herbert Pittinger and Alan Pittinger.

She is survived by her spouse, Steven Hanson of Lampasas; a son, Chris (Rachel) Hanson of Corinth; daughter, Jeni (Travis) Clark of Lampasas; and son, Andrew (Cassie) Hanson of Granbury; grandchildren Lauren (Chris) Pontes, Carter Hanson, Landry Hanson, Dakota Hanson, Javan Shearon, Naeveh Shearon, Emma Clark, Hudson Clark and Kennedy Clark; her mother-in-law, Jerry Hanson; and many other family members.

Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Building Fund at Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas.
