Mrs. Akana

Doris Jean Akana, 78, of Lampasas, died on Oct. 23, 2023, in Temple. A celebration of her life will be held in Maui at a later date. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements. Doris was born on Dec. 6, 1944, in Agua Dulce, Texas. She married James S. Akana on Feb. 14, 2012.

Mrs. Henry

Diana Aguirre Henry, 73, died on Oct. 22, 2023. Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. Diana spent her life caring for others, from being the oldest of her siblings to a wife and a mother and later a caregiver.

Mrs. Crisp

Jean Carol Crisp, 80, of Lampasas, died on Oct. 25, 2023. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Oct. 30 from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Jean was born on Oct.

Mr. Craig

Billy Rowland Craig, 67, of Lampasas died on Oct. 13, 2023. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Oct. 20 from 6-8 p.m. Services will take place Oct. 21 at 11 a.m., also at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Straley Cemetery.

Mrs. Macomber

Myrtice Macomber died on Oct. 8, 2023, at the age of 99 in Lampasas, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Dec. 8, 1923 in Jarrell, in Williamson County. Myrtice is survived by her son, Walt Birchfield and his wife, Joanne; her grandchildren Walter L.

Mr. Wittenburg

On Oct. 16, 2023, William “Bill” Ellis Wittenburg died from natural causes in Lakeway, after a short illness. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday. Funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lometa on Oct. 20 at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Senterfitt Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker

Phyllis Baker, age 82, died on Oct. 2, 2023. Phyllis was born June 3, 1941 in Plattsburgh, New York. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Deso. Cremation is under the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Lampasas.

Mr. Payne

Retired Chief Master Sgt. Rodger E. Payne died on Sept. 28, 2023, at the age of 94. Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. A celebration of his life is planned for Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lampasas Methodist Church.

Mr. Spicer

Robert “Bobby” Lee Spicer, 72, of Lampasas died on Sept. 26, 2023 in Killeen. He was born on Dec. 4, 1950 in Paris, Arkansas to parents Dwight Glyn and Alma Jean Spicer. Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Oct. 3 from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Watts

Cecile K. Watts, 99, died on Sept. 23, 2023, in Brady. A graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas on Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements. Cecile was born on Oct. 25, 1923, in Santa Anna to David and Zetha Thomas.
