Laura Ann Arms, 85, died on May 28, 2026, at her home in Copperas Cove.
She was born on March 25, 1941, to J.D. and Vastine Arms in Lampasas. She was one of 17 brothers and sisters: Joyce Heiney, Betty Jo Ackerman, Patsy Ruth McWhorter, Donna Faye Daniel, Nancy Ellen Lindsey, Nelda Sue Fousin (deceased), Letha Jannetta Arms, Rose Mary Smith, Bobby Lee Arms (deceased), Jimmy Ray Arms, Charles Arms (deceased), Marvin Gene Arms (deceased), Donald Dean Arms (deceased), Wesly Arms, Lloyd Arms and Mickey Arms (deceased).
Laura married Lanier Moon at an early age, and they had six children: Rodney Dale Moon, John Berry Moon, Toby Lanier Moon (deceased), James Ray Moon, Malinda Kay Moon (deceased), and April Ann Moon (deceased).
They divorced, and she then married Charles Douglas and they had a daughter, Leslie Jane Douglas. Laura also had 14 grandchildren and 36 greatgrandchildren.
Laura married Donnie Labombard on Oct. 30, 2022. She was a special mother and sister. She was very close to her parents.
Laura was a great cook and could pull together a delicious meal with hardly any ingredients. Everyone enjoyed her biscuits and gravy, and her turkey and dressing.
Most of her career was spent working in retail. Laura also remembered the times she had to pick cotton.
Laura loved God and was always trying to grow in her faith. Donnie and Laura would watch the church services out of Waco on TV every Sunday morning. She also was an expert at finding the things anyone needed. She enjoyed going to Goodwill and garage sales.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on June 5 at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
