Pansy Hughes Urofsky died peacefully on May 31, 2026.
She was born in Kempner on Aug. 30, 1936, to Saba and George Hughes.
Pansy married Murray Urofsky on Feb. 16, 1957. They were blessed with four children: Philip, Craig, Jeff and Christy.
Pansy deeply valued her family, particularly her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She enjoyed supporting them at sporting events and was a dedicated supporter of the Badgers across various sports.
She was a pillar of strength for her family and exemplified love and compassion. She left every room a little brighter than she found it.
Pansy was an excellent cook and looked forward to visiting her sister's house on Sundays for family dinners, where they often spent the day together and concluded the evening with a game of 31.
She made sacrifices to ensure her children and grandchildren had everything they needed. Christmas was a favorite time of year for her, and she and Murray hosted numerous holiday gatherings to celebrate the season. She is survived by her sons Philip Urofsky and wife Keli, and Craig Urofsky; her daughter, Christy Wiley and husband Mike; grandchildren Dusti Johns and husband Brian, Kalyn Lester and husband John, Hannah, Dalton and Murray Urofsky, Cade, Connelly and Landry White, and Aiden and Ryan Wiley; greatgrandchildren Colston and Brimli Johns, and Bodee Lester; and several nieces and nephews.
