Linda Eckermann, 66, died on April 4, 2023, at her home.

Visitation will be held at Grace Fellowship Church on April 8, starting at 9:30 a.m. A service will follow at 11 a.m. Private family burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Linda was born on Nov. 17, 1956, in Wichita Falls to Jim and Marie Goforth.

She grew up in Wichita Falls, then her family relocated to Lampasas in her high school years. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1975.

On Aug. 23, 1975, she married Terry Eckermann.

In the early years of their marriage, Linda stayed home with her children and helped raise her many nieces and nephews.

She attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she received her teaching degree. She retired from the Lampasas Independent School District in 2018 after her diagnosis of cancer.

Linda loved teaching and loved the friends she made while she taught. Her friends were like family to her. She was known as a warrior and never gave up on her battle.

Linda and her twin sister, Brenda, were inseparable. Even in later years, Linda and Brenda would attend the same events wearing the same outfits out of coincidence. Linda loved her sisters and appreciated all they did for her.

Linda’s children and grandchildren were her everything. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and loved spending time with each of them. Her grandchildren were her purpose in life as she battled through every day to be with them.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Jim Goforth.

She is survived by her spouse, Terry, of Lampasas; sons Heath Eckermann and wife Brandy of San Saba, and Derrek Eckermann and wife Colleen of Lampasas; mother, Marie Goforth of Lampasas; twin sister, Brenda Collins and husband Greg of Lampasas, and sisters Janice Canales and husband Tony of Lampasas, and Gail Bell Jenkins of Lampasas; grandchildren Kylee and Jim Eckermann, and Layton and Cora Eckermann; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
