Body

The family of James Lloyd Cummins has announced his death. Heritage Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Cummins was born July 21, 1949 in Lampasas to Willie and Lena Rhymes-Cummins.

Known for his work as a master electrician for Brown & Root, James more recently found joy working as a custodian for the Lampasas Independent School District and in the garden center at Walmart post-retirement.

With a love for fishing, garage sales and country music, James will be remembered for his simple pleasures in life.

He is survived by his children Kevin Lee Cummins and wife D’ann, Jamie Leon Cummins and wife Lyndsay, and Rebecca Lynn Vasquez and husband Vincent; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Sandra Blake and husband David, and Barbra “Suzy” Donaldson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or any cancer center.
