Inez “Nacho” Sapien Sr., 87, died on Sept. 12, 2026, at his home in Lampasas surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held Sept. 17 at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Inez was born on June 12, 1939, in Lampasas to Gumecindo Sapien and Manuela Longoria Sapien. He grew up and attended schools in Lampasas.
He was a carpenter by trade but had many other skills.
Inez moved to Dallas for most of his life, then eventually resided with his brother Daniel. They were two of a kind. After Daniel’s passing, Inez returned to Lampasas to enjoy his final years with April and Michael.
He enjoyed taking walks with his Yorkie, Lucy. He also enjoyed when his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit.
Inez was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Amelia “Amy” Sapien; his infant son, Larry Sapien; his infant daughter, Joann Sapien; his brothers Selestino Sapien and Daniel Sapien; his sister, Della Sapien; his nephew, Tony Sapien, and his niece, LaDonna Sapien Melendez.
Survivors include his children Ines Sapien Jr. (Ana), G. Alan Sapien (Heather), Lori A. Lovato (Joe), Thomas J. Marinelli (Darlene), Michael A. Hernandez (April); his brother, Joe Sapien; his sister, Frances Arzola; his grandchildren Sasha M. Lozano-Hernandez, TJ Marinelli III, Crystal L. Hernandez, Jennifer M. Cox, Joe M. Luna Jr., Tasha Langston, Melissa Marinelli, Nikkie Maxey, S. Kyle Sutton, G. Alan Sapien II, Kassandra J. Luna, Nicholas Sapien, Joseph R. Lovato, Matthew Sapien, Sammy Sapien, Nicholas D. Lovato, Brian A. Sapien, Luke A. Sapien, Joseph A. Sapien, Charity Burnes and Steven Marquez; and numerous greatgrandchildren, greatgreat- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as his beloved Lucy.
