Lampasas County Clerk Connie Hartmann has announced that the County Court jury trial scheduled for April 7 has been canceled. Potential jurors do not need to report.

Shoppers crowd line to enter store

Shoppers wait in a line to get into the Walmart entrance -- at far right -- before 6 a.m. Tuesday. Supermarkets have had larger crowds of shoppers in recent days as customers try to obtain groceries and supplies in the midst of coronavirus concerns.

Kempner Water Supply Corp. issued a special email alert to its water customers on Tuesday, asking them to be cautious about a potential solicitation they may have received recently in the mail. The text of that alert follows.

In light of developments related to the coronavirus, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. reminds Americans that “FDICinsured banks remain the safest place to keep their money,” according to a press release from the agency. “The FDIC is also warning consumers of recent scams where imposters are pretending to be agency representatives to perpetrate fraudulent schemes.”
