Energy drinks banned on Lampasas campuses

Lampasas ISD has banned energy drinks and caffeine pouches at all five of its campuses for the upcoming school year, which begins on Thursday.An announcement was made on Lampasas High School’s Facebook page Aug. 3 after school board members approved the change in last week’s regular meeting.

LISD authorizes bond sale

The Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees authorized the sale of its entire $115.55 million voter-approved bond package during Monday’s regular meeting.

Hundreds sign petition for splash pad

A petition started on Change.org for a splash pad inside the city of Lampasas is gaining momentum.In less than two weeks, the online petition started by Lampasas resident Ashley McCoy has garnered more than 650 signatures.McCoy said she has been surprised by the feedback from other residents.

The city of Lometa added a new face to its governing body Monday night. After meeting in regular session at Lometa City Hall, the City Council adjourned with all seats filled for the first time since last November.

Ag stewardship summit on tap

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is offering a Central Texas Stewardship Summit Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to educate landowners on stewardship practices for the natural resources on their property.The summit takes place at the Burnet County AgriLife Building, 607 N. Vandeveer in Burnet.
