Breakfast, lunch meals offered over summer break

Lampasas ISD Nutrition Services is offering summer meals for children. Meals are served at Hanna Springs Elementary School Monday through Friday (except Memorial Day) through June 19, and at Taylor Creek Elementary Monday through Thursday from June 1-25.Breakfast is served from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

Summer Reading program begins

Registration for the Lampasas Public Library’s Summer Reading program has begun.During June, there will be programs for children ages 3-10, teens ages 11-17, and adults ages 18 and up.To participate in the Reading Challenge, sign up and receive a reading log. Prizes are available.

After 32 years, Holcomb says goodbye

From the classroom to the football field, and all the way to the administration office, Dana Holcomb has poured his heart and soul into Lampasas ISD for 32 years.

Fishing and swimming events scheduled by Parks and Recreation

Starting early next month, the city of Lampasas Parks and Recreation Department has some events scheduled to get youth and members of the community enjoying the outdoors as summer gets going.First, the city will host a Kid Fish Day that actually will take place over two days at W.M. Brook Park.

Lometa school board trustees sworn in

Lometa ISD’s Board of Trustees met last week to handle mostly procedural items as the district approaches the end of another school year.A highlight of the meeting was the swearing-in of board members who were elected May 2, though no changes were made to officer positions on the board.

Honoring the LHS Class of 2026

Commencement exercises took place Friday night at Badger Stadium, where graduates in the Lampasas High School Class of 2026 walked the stage and received their diplomas to the applause of a packed audience of onlookers. For more photos from graduation, see page 3 inside.
