The questions surrounding proposed data center projects continue to mount, and public approval of the sites has plummeted. A March 2026 Gallup survey shows 70% of respondents across the country were opposed to the projects, with only 25% in favor. Only 27% believe that AI data centers would contribute toward economic growth and job creation in their communities.
