I currently serve as a board member for the Lampasas Mission, president of the New Covenant Church board, and while I currently serve as a member of the Ministerial Alliance I have previously served as vice president and president. As a member and/or officer of these boards, in my current role as senior pastor of New Covenant Church and in my previous career as an associate director for AIG, I have spent countless hours developing, reviewing and updating policies, procedures and bylaws.

Gone but not forgotten: Old county jail demolished

Within 10 months, the former county jail on East Fourth Street went from being a downtown landmark to a non-existent structure. The jail was built in 1972 to replace an outdated structure at the same site that dated to 1883 and had been condemned by the state health department.

Spring Fest returns to Lampasas after two-year hiatus

More than 300 plant enthusiasts made their way to the bandstand section of the courthouse square on Saturday morning to participate in this year’s Spring Fest. The event, sponsored by the Courtyard Square Association, was the organization’s first since the pandemic.

Rabid skunk confirmed in Lampasas

The Lampasas Police Department confirmed Friday that a skunk found within the city limits has tested positive for rabies. On Thursday, Interim Police Chief Jody Cummings said in a news release the animal was found in the 300 block of Brook Street after authorities received a report of two dogs killing a skunk.

Lometa ISD to consider new health curriculum

The Lometa Independent School District’s Board of Trustees meeting for March consisted of routine “housekeeping” details, with some items revolving around curriculum for the next year. Trustees considered continuation of the district’s use of the Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund for insurance.
