Exploring the fine arts, learning crafts

A group of children work with volunteers at the 2023 Arts in the Park for Kids event to create knitting crafts. Lampasas Association for the Arts will bring the popular festival to Campbell Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All activities are free for participants.

Girl Scouts complete 2024 eclipse-related service project

Girl Scout Troops 20001 and 20023, composed of fifth- and sixth-grade students, have been learning more about community service and the importance of serving those around them.

Eclipse dazzles Lampasas residents

The 580 Sports Complex on the western side of Lampasas provided rental spots for RVs and campers for those traveling to view Monday’s eclipse event. While many had cleared out early due to weather and cloud coverage concerns, those who stayed got a great view of the totality. Physicals being offered for next school year

Next month, physicals will be offered to all current and future Lampasas athletes.On May 7 from 8-10 a.m., physicals will be given at Lampasas High School. The cost is $20, with checks made payable to AdventHealth or cash.

Trials reset in two separate shooting cases

Two trials have been reset for individuals accused in Lampasas County shooting incidents in 2023.Michael Oran Woods, 43, is set for jury announcement and trial in June, and Sarah Jane Ames, 32, is set for jury announcement and trial in July.
