Researcher says animals react to solar events

Lampasas County residents who own livestock or pets should be aware animals are likely to have different reactions to the upcoming total eclipse. Although little research has been done on the matter, a study led by North Carolina State University based on the 2017 total solar eclipse provides insight into how animals behave during totality.

LISD eyes ways to keep extra academic staff

Lampasas Independent School District is looking at ways to hold onto added instructional staff that were hired with federal funds during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the LISD Board of Trustees meeting March 4, district officials presented a staffing study to trustees to indicate areas where the district may be overstaffed or where there is room to trim personnel via attrition.
