Cross country season ends at regionals

Brooke Coffman led Lampasas at cross country regionals, placing 33rd in a 135-girl race in Lubbock on Tuesday. Although her finish would have been enough to qualify for regionals in a normal year, this year the number of state qualifiers was reduced to cut down on crowd size at the state meet.

LHS wins second straight

Lampasas led McGregor by just three points at the start of the fourth quarter but beat the visiting Lady Bulldogs 54-43. The strong finish gives the Lady Badgers a 2-0 start to the season.

All-district athletes announced in two sports

TENNIS Several Badgers made the all-district tennis team after Lampasas placed third in the district and ended the season with a first-round playoff loss to Peaster. Undefeated district champs blast Billies; advance to face Uvalde

The Badgers’ best regularseason showing in almost a century ended with a 56-20 win over Fredericksburg and a second straight district title. Lampasas (5-0 in district, 8-0 overall) will advance to the bi-district playoffs to face Uvalde (2-8, 1-3) on Thursday in Fredericksburg at 7 p.m.

Varsity boys hold Cougars scoreless in nine-minute stretch

The Lampasas varsity boys improved every quarter in a series of scrimmages on Saturday at home. With a 20-minute running clock in each scrimmage, Lampasas fell 26-14 to Salado before beating Milano 28-16, topping China Spring by a 27-20 score and winning an eight-minute quarter against Milano 23-17.
