Mrs. Wilkinson

Velma Jordan “Sug” Wilkinson was born Feb. 11, 1943 in Lampasas to the late Bill and Ollie Jordan.

She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1961.

Wilkinson on March 4, 1961. They traveled across the country, as he worked for Brown and Root.

Velma was a stay-at-home mom who dedicated herself to their two daughters and to Mack. They moved to Bee House in 1984, where they resided for 37 years.

Sug died on June 10, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on June 15 at 11 a.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Pearl Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Pearl Community Center following the interment.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Ronda; sister Edna; and two brothers, Bill and Joe.

Velma is survived by one daughter, Debbie Brock and husband Ted; six grandchildren, Chris Brock, Morgan Brock, Zane Newton, Ciera Newton, Jordan Brock and Sarah Brock; sisters Delma Smith (her twin), Patsy Williams and Anna Phelps; a brother, Winston Jordan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Velma traveled the world through books. She was an avid reader and word search worker. She enjoyed playing games with her family, especially her twin sister.

Memorials may be made to the Pearl cemetery or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
