Donna Walker, 79, succumbed to liver cancer shortly after celebrating her birthday on June 23, 2023.
She was born in 1944 to Henry Frank and Elizabeth Lynn Baines.
She married Delbert Walker in 1972, and spent most of her life working with him in construction while traveling to various cities. She also worked as a seamstress, casino worker and for the prison system.
After her husband’s death, Donna moved to Lampasas.
Donna made many friends during her life while traveling and more when she settled in Lampasas after retiring. She would help when needed, and at one point she was the honorary mother for the family-oriented club her family was a member of.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2015; and by siblings Bob, Glen and Buck Baines, Ruth Moore, Virginia Owens and Mildred Jeter.
Survivors include five children, Sharon Walters, Wanda Walters-Hale, Avery Walters, Eldon Walters and Cynthia Walters-Cobb; three stepchildren, Debbie Bunnell-Curtis, Doris Walker and Coy Walker; two brothers, Bill Baines and Ernest Baines; sister, Anne Weis; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 30 at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.
