Mary Katherine Smithwick, 73, of Lampasas died on Dec. 26, 2021 at her residence.
Mary was born on July 24, 1948 in Lampasas to Willie Frank and Laura Frances Jones-Attaway. She had remained a Lampasas resident all her life.
She and Kenneth Smithwick were married on June 18, 1965 in Lampasas, and had 56 years of marriage together.
Mary was a homemaker and grandmother, and she loved to do thoughtful things for her family. Her favorite hobby was gardening.
Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth Smithwick, of Lampasas; one son, Jimmy Smithwick and wife Olga of Belton; one daughter, Shannon Smithwick of Lampasas; three grandchildren, Ashley Fancher, and Taylor and Morgan Smithwick; two great-grandchildren, Bleu Wagner and Pecos Wagner; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Dixon Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Frank and Benhart Frank, and two sisters, Linda Frank and Bonnie Frank Gobel.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
