Mrs. Salazar

Darlene June Salazar, 58, died on Feb. 14, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

A memorial service will be held at Lampasas Community Church, 1601 Fourth St., on March 2 at 10 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Darlene was born on Oct. 9, 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio to Daniel Graber and Beverly Sima.

She grew up in North Ridgeville, Ohio, and graduated from North Ridgeville High School in 1984.

After high school, she joined the U.S. Army and served for eight years. She served during Desert Storm and was the recipient of numerous awards and campaign medals. Darlene was stationed in Germany, Korea and stateside. She was discharged in 1992, achieving the rank of Specialist Four. She then began work for Lampasas ISD as a special needs teacher’s aide where she worked for 19 years helping special needs children.

Darlene married Dimas Salazar in 1989 in Daleville, Alabama. They were married for 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Graber, and her daughter, Alexa R. Salazar.

Darlene is survived by her former spouse, Dimas Salazar of Newark, Delaware; her mother, Beverly Graber; and siblings Daniel, Mark, Joyce, Richard, James, Heidi Bauer, Candace Miscuda and Shaun Graber.
