Carolyn Foster Reed, 73, died on Jan. 20, 2023 at Ascension Seton Williamson in Round Rock.
Visitation will be at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Jan. 24 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Weir Cemetery, 1590 County Road 120 in Georgetown.
Carolyn was born on April 4, 1949, in Waco to Dennis and Jessie (Harvey) Foster.
She grew up in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1967. She attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, where she received a bachelor’s degree in education.
After college, she started working at Georgetown ISD as a math teacher and juvenile probation officer. She retired after 25 years.
Carolyn was involved at Lampasas Mission, Salvation Army, Lions Club and volunteered at the Lampasas Public Library.
She married Tommy Reed in 1989 in Weir, and they were married for 33 years.
Carolyn was a member of School Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering, gardening, bird watching, traveling and collecting her favorite things.
She was preceded in death by her son, Travis Harper; her father, Dennis Foster; her brother, Steve Foster; three aunts and four uncles.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Reed of Lampasas; her mother, Jessie Poindexter of Burleson; her son, Kevin (Patricia) Harper of Georgetown; her stepdaughter, Kim (Jeff) Purkhiser of Leander; her stepson, Thomas (Janis) Reed of Houston; her brother, Larry Kelso of Houston; her sister, Renee (Ron) Blackwell of Burleson; her brother, Greg (Julia) Foster of Dallas; her granddaughter, Jessica Coburn of Austin; her grandson, Bryant Coston of Pflugerville; her granddaughter, Faith (Andrew) Davitt of Huntsville, Alabama; her granddaughter, Dalia Credeur of Austin; her granddaughter, Alexondra Romero of Boise, Idaho; her granddaughter, Sofia Cordone of Georgetown; her step-granddaughter, Ryan Purkhiser of Austin; her step-grandson, Chase (Ashley) Purkhiser of Copperas Cove; her greatgranddaughter, Abby Purkhiser of Leander; her great-grandson, Ben Davitt of Huntsville, Alabama; her great-granddaughter, Alice Davitt, also of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requested memorials be made to School Creek Baptist Church, at 11228 County Road 3420, Lampasas, TX 76550.
