Helen Pearl McDaniel, 93, of Lampasas died on July 30, 2023, in Temple.
Visitation took place at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Aug. 2. Graveside services were held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Aug. 3 at 10 a.m.
Helen was born Sept. 15, 1929 in Briggs to Fred and Emma Gertrude Reavis.
She graduated from Briggs High School and then went on to attend Jackson Business School in Lampasas.
She worked for the Department of Public Safety in Austin for many years before returning to Lampasas, where she worked for Wieser Mill which later became Evergreen Feed before she retired.
Helen’s faith was extremely important to her. She was a devout Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Clifford Canales and Dwight McDaniel; her brother, Fredrick Herd Reavis; and her grandson, Leon Martin.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice Canales; grandchildren Cristopher Brister and husband Camron, Colter Burr and wife Katherine, and Cheyenne Burr; greatgrandchildren Copeland, Carson, Carly, Emmalisa, Brooklyn, Franklin, Gracelynn, Erya and Phoenix; as well as many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorials in Helen’s name may be made to the Lampasas Methodist Church.
