Mona Faye Rucktashel Lancaster, 76, of Lampasas died at her home on July 24, 2022.
Services will be held July 29 at First Street Church of Christ at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Interment will follow at School Creek Cemetery. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Mona was born Sept. 14, 1945 in Amherst, Texas to Joe and Louise Rucktashel.
As a child, she moved to Muleshoe, and her freshman year in high school was spent in San Angelo.
Mona moved to Lampasas when she was a junior in high school. She was a cheerleader, played volleyball, was crowned Miss LHS and helped run the Western Auto store.
Most of her career was spent working as a secretary for Lampasas High School, where she spent 26 years in total.
She was a member of Beta Mu and a longtime member of First Street Church of Christ, where she taught Bible classes.
Mona was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, Trent Lancaster; children Chelsa Istre and Melia Lancaster; sister, Dyna Kohler; grandchildren Sierra, Sterling, Samantha and Steele; and greatgrandchildren Levi Jackson and Grace Istre.
