Mrs. Griffin

Erma Lee Griffin, 96, died on Jan. 14, 2023, at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lampasas.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Jan. 20.

Funeral services will be at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Jan. 21, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Erma Lee was born on July 31, 1926, in Pidcoke in Coryell County to Marvin Williamson and Lula Kelso Williamson.

She grew up in Pidcoke and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1942. After high school, she attended nurses training in Temple.

Erma Lee was also a caregiver in the nursery at the Methodist Church.

One of her favorite activities was being a Girl Scout leader for 10 years.

Erma Lee was employed as a child nutrition specialist at Lampasas ISD, where she worked for 20 years. In her later years, she returned to Pidcoke Methodist Church, of which her family had been members for many generations.

Erma Lee married Fred Griffin on Jan. 3, 1947, in Lampasas. They lived on their ranch north of Lampasas along Lucy Creek and had three children.

Erma Lee was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Onella and Willard Griffin of Eastland; sister-in-law, Dixie Griffin of Lampasas; and her son, Robert of Lampasas.

She is survived by her daughters, Janice and husband James Vincent of Lampasas, and Sandra and husband Jeff Poole of Lampasas; grandchildren Amy and husband Shane Brown of Lampasas, and Mike and Angela Mahana of Frisco; and greatgrandchildren Michael January and Benjamin Brown of Lampasas, and Christian Mahana of Frisco.

Memorial donations may be made to the cancer charity of one’s choice.
