Mrs. Griffin

Gwendolyn E. Griffin, 75, of Lampasas died on Oct. 2, 2021, in Lampasas. She had been a resident of Lampasas for the past 25 years, previously having lived in Killeen and Austin.

She was born on July 21, 1946, in Austin to Clarence Wayne Hickman and Marguerte Webb Hickman.

She married Cliff Griffin in May 1996 at the Lampasas County Courthouse.

Gwendolyn was a homemaker. She loved quilting, reading and listening to music.

Gwendolyn is survived by her husband, Cliff Griffin of Lampasas; three sons, John Morgan, Dean Morgan and wife Juanita of Lampasas, and Shawn Fry and wife Erica of Dallas; one daughter, Jean Morgan of Lampasas; one sister, Glenda Thomas of Kyle; grandchildren Jennifer Pace, Brandon Morgan, Patricia Chavez, Lucas Fry, Caleb Fry, Monique Clary, Cheyenne Reed, Marcus Reed, Tyler Morgan and John Morgan; and great-grandchildren Matthew and Gabriel Pace, Izzy and Jazzy Clary, James McManus, Jacklyn Loth and Thomas Alexander III.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Montemurro; two brothers, Weldon Rascoe and Kenneth Hickman; five sisters, Evelyn Rains, Annie Pearl Hickman, Myrtle Schubert, Doris Rascoe and Ruby Lutz; two previous spouses, Jess Fry and John Hardy Morgan; and by one grandchild, Heather Morgan.

A family visitation will be held Oct. 9 from 10-11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas. A procession then will lead to the Alexander family cemetery for the burial, with Dr. Kirby to officiate.
