Laura Elaine Goodwin, 75, died on Oct. 2, 2022, at her home in Lampasas.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1947, in Lampasas to Lamartine and Mattie Belle Goodwin.
Laura grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1965.
After high school, she attended Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She then went on to attend Baylor University in Waco, where she received a master’s degree in education.
Laura worked as an elementary teacher and later as a diagnostician for Cameron ISD, Caldwell ISD, Copperas Cove ISD and Lampasas ISD for more than 30 years.
Laura married Elzie Jones in 2004 in Lampasas. They were married for 18 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas, and enjoyed sewing and spending time with family.
Laura is survived by her spouse, Elzie Jones of Lampasas; sons Eric (Shanon) Pimpler and Grant (Kristen) Pimpler, both of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; sisters Wilma (Albert) Landry of Liberty Hill and Venona (Ronnie) Patterson of Lampasas; brothers Ben Goodwin and Earnest Goodwin, both of Lampasas; and her grandchildren Whitney Pimpler, Elizabeth Pimpler, Jackson Pimpler, Sydney Pimpler and Abigail Pimpler.
Memorial donations may be made to New Beginning of Restoration and Hope in Lampasas.
