Cora Lee Flud, 72, of Grand Prairie died on Nov. 7, 2023.
She was born in Lampasas to Virgil and Corine Cox on Aug. 7, 1951.
She married James Flud on Sept. 6, 1986 in Kempner.
Cora graduated from Lampasas High School and attended El Centro College, where she received her nursing degree.
Cora dedicated her life to helping others. Her kind heart and gentle nature brought comfort to patients throughout her career. She used her knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on others. She worked as a nurse in the Dallas area her entire career.
She also enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, family genealogy and children.
Cora was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Lisa Cox, brother-in-law Pat Gee, great-nephew Bay Swain and greatgreat- nephew Ethan Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, James Flud; sisters Ann Gee and Shirl Wangler; brothers Robert Cox, Jackie Cox, and Jim Cox and wife Gail; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing took place Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at Heritage Funeral Home, with Rance Cox officiating. Graveside service to follow at Kempner Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
