Winston Walton died Nov. 18, 2023, after a long illness.
Born July 27, 1942 in Hamilton, he was a teacher, a chemist, a builder and a fourth-generation rancher in Lampasas and Hamilton counties.
Walton also served on the Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees from 1996-2002.
His survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jill Fender Walton; a son, Clay Walton and a daughter, Mollie Walton; two grandchildren; and a sister, Cynthia Walton Lewis and her husband, Steve Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Claibourne Walton and Leone Patterson Walton.
