Billy James Spivey, 90, of Honey Grove, Texas, was born Nov. 19, 1932, to William Govnor and Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Spivey, in Bruceville-Eddy. He died June 3, 2023, in Paris, Texas.
Billy served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
Mr. Spivey married Nona Janelle (Deyhle) Spivey on Aug. 22, 1962, in Dallas.
Billy supported his family by working as a bookkeeper at a gas company. In his free time, Mr. Spivey was a homebody who enjoyed watching television with his wife, as well as playing dominoes with his family and friends at gatherings.
Billy is survived by his wife, Nona, as well as his son Barton and wife Aimee.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Arrangements are under the care of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove.
