Mr. Sanchez

William Franklin “Ray” Sanchez died at his home in Lampasas on Oct. 25, 2022. He had lived in Lampasas his whole life, born on Feb. 8, 1961, to Atilano Sanchez Sr. and Juanita Rendon Sanchez.

Ray was a painter by trade and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He had a passion for viewing the stars and planets with his many telescopes. He loved pitching washers and most of all spoiling his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Ray is survived by his son, Willie Sanchez and wife Chelsea of Copperas Cove; daughter, Jessica Sanchez of Marble Falls; three brothers, Atilano Sanchez Jr. of Lampasas, Arthur Sanchez of Marble Falls and David Sanchez of Dallas; six sisters, Lupe Loya, Lydia Olivarez, and Dora Moreno, all of Lampasas, Olivia Martinez of Austin, Delia Dominguez of Leander and Terry Morales of Garden City, Kansas; 11 grandchildren, Tara, Valerie, Brianna, Elisa, Haylee, Willie Jr., Edward, Christopher, Jordan, Mena and Amora; and four greatgrandchildren, Matthew, Lydia, Andrew and Ashton.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tony Sanchez; two sisters, Ann Karr and Henrietta Maldonado; and two cousins, Gable Maldonado and Joey Sanchez.

Rosaries were recited on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Boniface Onjefu officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
