Mr. Richardson

W.C. Richardson, 75, of Lampasas died June 8, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held June 16 at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

W.C. was born March 28, 1946 in Brundidge, Alabama to Carl Richardson and Florence (Henley) Richardson.

He joined the U.S. Army immediately after high school. He served for 18 years and was medically discharged. He served during the Vietnam War. Among his many achievements was receiving the Bronze Star Medal.

He worked as a rock and stone mason for many years. He also had worked in power line construction and plumbing.

W.C. enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

W.C. was a lifelong Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ute Richardson in 2012; sisters Alice Hughes and Dean Mobley; and brothers Donnie Richardson and Lonnie Richardson.

Survivors include his son, Kenny Richardson (Kathy) of Lampasas; daughter, Dawn Varnado (James) of Lampasas; grandchildren Brittney Varnado, Jameson Varnado, Garrett Richardson, Ausstin Richardson and Katelyn Richardson; greatgrandchildren Turner, Jayce, Aspyn and Acelyn; one brother, Melvin Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
