Lorenzo “Lencho” Resa died on Jan. 29, 2024, at his home in Belton.
Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Lorenzo was born to Isidro Marquez Reza and Gertrudes Garcia Reza in Tornillo, Texas on June 20, 1926. He was known as Lencho and grew up in Porvenir, Mexico, where his parents farmed and ranched.
At age 17, Lorenzo relocated to Pecos, Texas seeking employment. In Pecos, he joined Lalo Alvarado’s field crew and traveled to the Lometa area.
On March 10, 1950, Lorenzo married Aurelia Alvarado Urbina in Lampasas. Lorenzo and Aurelia made Lometa their home. Together they had 13 children: Lorenzo Jr., Esther, Cruz, Arturo, Estella, Anita, Elena, Marcellino, Robert, Genaro, Eddie, Rosemarie and Raymond.
Lorenzo operated a successful sheep and goat shearing operation in Lampasas County from 1969 to 1980. His favorite pastimes were tinkering with antique tools and visiting family and friends.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his wife and children Cruz and Rosemarie.
Survivors include his 11 children, 31 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
