Mr. Morrow

Charlie Doyle Morrow died on June 19, 2023, with his wife of 57 years by his bedside.

Doyle, as his friends and family called him, was a loving, gentle and kind man who would be the first to offer a helping hand. He loved spending time with his family and making people laugh. He also loved to “doodle” and would draw beautiful pictures of places he had been.

Charlie was born in Pittsburg, Texas, to Curtis and Odell Morrow. He was number five of seven children and often would be the voice of reason or the referee between the kids. He loved his brothers and sisters dearly.

Though Doyle was born in Texas, he was raised until adulthood on the Monterey Peninsula in California and often said “he got back to Texas as soon as he could.”

He and his wife raised two children in a little town called Maypearl.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Priscilla; a daughter, Valarie, and husband Johnny Chambers; a son, Mark Morrow; granddaughter, Bailey and husband Colton Cockrell; great-granddaughter, Briella Cockrell; and his sister, Laqueda Vader of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Vic, Bill and Lee; and sisters Margeta Dietrick and Patricia Griffin.

The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel will have charge of arrangements.
