David “Brian” McCord died at his home in Lampasas on Nov. 14, 2021.
Brian was born on April 26, 1957 in Uvalde to Walter Ray “Pat” McCord and Aquila Hendricks “Kitty” McCord.
Raised in the Dallas area, Brian was a 1974 graduate from St. Mark’s High School.
In 1979, Brian obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University. He also obtained a Juris Doctor in 1982 from the University of Texas School of Law and a Master of Science in journalism from the University of Illinois in 1986.
Brian spent the next 25 years in the Chicago area as manager/ director of corporate communications for Tellabs and Allegiance telecommunications, as well as a freelance writer.
In 2011, Brian moved back to Texas and was a substitute teacher for Lampasas High School.
He is survived by his daughter, Emily McCord of Oakland, California, and sons Alex of Chicago and Mark of Minneapolis.
