Mr. Maceyra

Victor Maceyra, 64, died in his sleep on Oct. 25, 2023, in Lamesa.

Victor is survived by his two children, daughter Crystal Rodriguez and husband Julio, and son Victor Maceyra Jr. and wife Tanya Paiste; 11 grandchildren, Abriana Rodriguez of Temple, Daniel Rodriguez of Rosebud, Illeana Rodriguez of Bryan, Chloe Rodriguez, Xavier Rodriguez and Brian Rodriguez, all of Rosebud, Jacob Maceyra, Veda Maceyra and Anthony Walker of Harker Heights, Leah Paiste-Husok of Germany and Kayla Paiste of Hawaii; and two great-grandchildren, Niyelie Rodriguez and Natalie Flores.

Other survivors are 12 siblings, sisters Geneva Montoya of Marble Falls, Ester Ibarra of Burnet, Laura Kubiak of Clifton, Rose Mary Arce of Houston, Ana Arce of Waco, Debbie Hernandez of Kempner, Sally Bailon of Lampasas and Janie Bailon of Austin, and brothers Rogelio Bailon of Lampasas, Ricky Maceyra of Lamesa, Robert Arce of Lometa and Lupe Bailon of Houston; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Victor was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Matias Maceyra of Lampasas; a nephew, Victor Di’Angelo Arce of Lampasas; and two nieces, Isabel Granado of Killeen and Mariah Bailon of Temple.

Victor was born on Dec. 11, 1958 in Lampasas. He attended Lampasas schools.

Victor married Rose Mary Watts in 1982.

As a young man, he worked at Brown Feed Store.

In 1989, he was in an accident that left him paralyzed. He never let that get in the way of raising his children. Victor was an advocate for the rights of the aging and disabled. Victor didn’t let his disability stop him from achieving his goals.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Lampasas. He will be remembered as a strong-willed, stubborn and hard-headed yet kindhearted and witty man who loved his children and grandchildren. He could command a crowd in any room.

The memorial service is Nov. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.
