Mr. Jones

Paul Douglas Jones, born Nov. 11, 1946, died on Feb. 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Douglas Jones II, mother Frances Estelle Jones and father Harney Theodore Jones.

Paul was born in Austin and spent a large portion of his life in the Lockhart area. He entered the Air Force at the age of 17 and served his country well. He later worked as a disc jockey and a sales manager and spokesperson for a television station in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Paul married Paula Brinkley on Jan. 20, 1968.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Paula Jones; daughters Melissa Skinner and Suzanne Phillips; sons Philip and Patrick Jones; and nine grandchildren.

Paul enjoyed attending church services, rodeos with his family and time on his ranch. He enjoyed his gun collection and country life altogether.

A graveside service was held Feb. 28 at Smithwick Cemetery, where Paul was laid to rest by his son Paul and granddaughter Brinkley Skinner. Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
