Mr. Ivy

Harvey Noel Ivy, 95, died on Oct. 25, 2023, at the Ascension Seton hospital in Round Rock.

Graveside services will be held Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. at Center Cemetery in Lometa, on County Road 40.

Harvey was born on Aug. 13, 1928, in Lometa to Angus Ivy and Verna (Smallwood) Ivy.

He grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School.

After completing high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country.

Upon leaving the military, Harvey worked as a typesetter for the Dallas newspaper. He later owned three different motorcycle dealerships, selling and servicing both Harley Davidson and Honda motorcycles.

After closing his last dealership, Harvey retired but stayed active with several entrepreneurial endeavors.

The joy of Harvey’s life was spending time with his wife, Gloria (Connor) Ivy. He also enjoyed engaging in conversation with friends and family members.

As a mechanic, Harvey loved anything that had a combustible engine, whether it was a motorcycle, automobile or a boat. He collected and restored a good number of classic cars.

Harvey was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Ivy, Don Ivy and John Jerome Ivy.

He is survived by his spouse, Gloria Ivy of Kingsland; son, Randy Ivy and wife Carolyn of Cowdrey, Colorado, and daughter, Carla Carr and husband Jerry of Johnstown, Colorado; sister, Margaret Ivy of Kingsland; and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren,
