Arthur “Art” Woodrow Howe of Austin died on May 28, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born on May 30, 1938 in Galveston.
Graduating from Lampasas High in 1957, Mr. Howe was married to Betty Jean Thomas in Corpus Christi Texas on Oct. 15, 1961.
Art served honorably in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant E-5. During his service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Upon release from military service, Mr. Howe graduated from Texas A&I College with a degree in accounting and passed the Texas CPA exam on the first try.
As a certified public accountant, Mr. Howe worked side by side with his wife Betty, supporting small businesses throughout the Austin area for many years.
Art is survived by his wife Betty, and was a loving father and grandfather to his children Tom (Faye) and Hank (Laura) and grandchildren John, Lunden, Hannah, Hanna and Brandon.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching sporting events, and often traveled across the United States with his wife Betty and children.
He was predeceased by his parents (Loise and Henry) and his brother (Charles).
Services and burial will be determined at a later date. Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park has charge of arrangements.
