Jerry Albert Griffin of Adamsville died on Sept. 5, 2021 at home.
He was born on June 21, 1935 to the late Clarece Price Griffin and Luther Griffin in Lawton, Oklahoma.
He earned master’s degrees in archeology and in anthropology. Jerry was involved in many occupations and adventures that took him all over the world.
He married Patty Evans on Sept. 3, 1977, and she preceded him in death on June 17, 2010. He also was predeceased by his sister, Elvira Griffin.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Ryan Walters and husband Jesse; Marilinda Walters, John and Allie Walters and their seven children, all of Lampasas; daughter Terri Hirst and husband Rob of Waverly, Iowa; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Andrew; and four great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the University of Texas at El Paso, where Jerry was a professor.
He will be cremated, and his ashes will be laid to rest with his wife’s. Heritage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
A graveside service at the Pottsville Cemetery will be held at a later date.
