James Edward Benoist, 96, of Lampasas died on Feb. 12, 2024, at his home in Lampasas.
Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Feb. 16 from 5-7 p.m.
Services will be held on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Bend Sand Hill Cemetery.
James was born on Dec. 5, 1927, in Lampasas to Ben Dudley Benoist and Mabel Clara (Spurlin) Benoist.
He served his country in the United States Navy and afterward was head of DFE at Fort Hood as a master electrician. After he retired from this position, he ran his own small residential electric business.
He loved to hunt and especially enjoyed fishing. He and his wife, Lenora, spent quite a bit of time fishing on the Colorado River after their retirement. Most importantly, James was a family man and loved spending time with them.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lenora Jean Benoist; and his son, Nolan Ernest Pryor.
Survivors include his son Darrell Pryor; daughter-inlaw, Ruth Zwicker and her family; and great-grandsons Dillon Pryor and Dalton Pryor.
