Eric Blake Averitt died on Sept. 16, 2022, at AdventHealth Central Texas hospital in Killeen at age 24.
A service will be held at Christ the Rock Church, 2514 East U.S. Highway 190 in Lampasas, on Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Eric was born on May 20, 1998, in Abilene to Rick and Darenda Averitt. He grew up in Lampasas.
He graduated from Lampasas High School in 2017 and went to work with Mezger Stone in Kempner as a CNC programmer/ operator. Eric loved working side by side with his dad, making architectural cut stone, and helping with the fabrication of commercial and high-end residential projects.
He also loved spending time with family, making people laugh, video games, reading, music and helping others. Eric attended Christ the Rock Church and gave the precious gift of life through organ donation.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandmothers Brenda Helmuth and Nellie Averitt, and his nephew, Jaylen Tristian Bush.
He is survived by his parents Rick Averitt, Darenda Averitt and Chukee Averitt; sisters Lael Pease of Killeen, and Robin Pease, LeeJohna Bennett and Alexis Domhoff, all of Kempner; a niece, Aria Lopez; grandparents Richard Averitt of Apache Junction, Arizona, and John and Beverly Bennett of Lampasas; greatgrandmother, Nell Ray of Lampasas; aunts Tanya Averitt Darby, Kellie Kell Young and Michelle Garner Wholaver; uncles Monty Averitt, Clinton Wheat and JohnEdward Garner; and many cousins.
