Michael Payton Lynch, 68, of Midlothian, passed into heaven on June 21, 2021.
Mike was born on February 28, 1953, in Lampasas, Texas, to the late Charles and Laverne Lynch, and his family was active in the community for almost thirty years. He attended Lampasas High School where he was on the golf team, and Baylor University from 1973-1977. After his Baylor years, Mike stayed in Waco where he met his future wife, Kathy Rivers. They were married August 17, 1985 and moved to Duncanville, where their daughter Anne was born in 1991. They then moved to Midlothian in 2000, where they’ve lived for twenty-one years.
Mike loved people – to talk with them, be with them, make them laugh. He never turned down an opportunity to help and encourage others, and share God’s love. He especially had a passion for making children feel good and laugh. He loved to solve problems, figure things out, and build things with his hands.
Growing up in Lampasas he was a consummate outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish, life guarding during summers and breaking records for underwater swimming, interests that followed him into adulthood. Working outside in the yard and flower gardening was his passion. It exemplified his nature of nurturing and caring for people and plants.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Patti Shields. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy; daughter, Anne and son-in-law, Kevin Donahoo of Plano; sister, Janice Ryan and husband Bob of Austin; five nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends from all walks of his life.
His funeral took place Sunday, June 27th at 2pm at Jaynes Funeral Home in Duncanville, TX. A time of fellowship followed. www.jaynesmemorialchapel.com
