Funeral services will be held Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church for Linda Ann Johnson of Lampasas, with visitation at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson died Jan. 23, 2023 at the age of 85.
She was born in Olean, Missouri on Jan. 22, 1938, the daughter of Sue and Max Haynes. She graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1959 with a degree in elementary education.
After she married Rex Johnson in 1959, the couple moved to Lampasas, where her husband worked for Guyler Construction for a number of years. He later formed his own construction firm.
In addition to their longtime civic involvement, the Johnsons donated 18 acres of land to the city of Lampasas in 2010, and what was once called the Rex and Linda Johnson Park off Hackberry Street has been renamed the Cooper Spring Nature Park.
