Lampasas negotiates emergency water agreement with Kempner Water Supply

Lampasas City Council directed city staff to negotiate the final terms of an emergency water agreement with Kempner Water Supply Corp. In a unanimous vote Monday, council members authorized staff to move forward with negotiations on a conditional contract for temporary emergency water provisions with KWSC and to bring the agreement back to the council for consideration upon a decision of terms.

Running water covers the roadway on Hackberry Street Thursday, as much-needed precipitation has fallen on Lampasas County. According to the National Weather Service, rain totals measured from the Lampasas Municipal Airport between Tuesday and Thursday at 6 a.m. were 3.03 inches.

Lampasans speak in favor of constitutional amendments

Three Lampasans spoke in favor of farming and ranching rights and cost-of-living adjustments for retired teachers in a Lampasas County Commissioners Court meeting. Although the Commissioners Court can’t vote on amendments proposed by the Texas Legislature, the court heard comments in favor of Proposition 1 and Proposition 9 during its meeting Monday morning.
