Possible solar farm construction headed to Lampasas County

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court is asking for public input about bringing a solar farm to the county. The court is proposing to redesignate approximately 3,800 acres of land as “under lease or to be under lease in unincorporated Lampasas County,” in a project that qualifies for tax abatement.

Nix Community Center seeks funding to remain viable

The Nix School Community Center Committee has announced that the center may need to close its doors permanently. With a yearly budget of approximately $3,000 to cover insurance and utilities, there is not enough funding for repairs that the building requires, the committee said.
